We have started a new initiative of helping war widows who have families of young children.
The idea is to buy and give them a cow that will yield enough milk for the that family’s use and some excess to sell, and 50 chicken that will lay enough eggs for family’s daily use and produce excess that could be sold thus generating some income for the family. We also buy them mash for feed to start them up.
We do not rely on any middle link agencies and get local volunteers’ help to buy and deliver directly to the families in need.
This project aims to get the family self sufficiency without the need to be depended upon hand outs.
Average cost to help such a family has been less than £200 UK pounds. We have through our volunteers network provided self sufficiency to more than 20 families to date.
